Infant of Prague Cloister

The Prioress of the Discalced Carmelite Nuns at the Monastery of the Infant Jesus of Prague commissioned Duncan G. Stroik Architect to re-build the cloister and garden at the heart of her monastery. New brick and limestone piers and arches form a covered walkway for the nuns.

At the center pedestal of the cloister stands a carved bianco carrara marble crucifix which is visible from the cells at the second floor both day and night. An Ionic cornice atop the existing monastery walls crowns the new cloister.
