This new Catholic cathedral stands in the heart of the historic downtown, with a prominent Corinthian portico and a pair of bell towers at the facade. The interior is covered by a large omnipresent dome and seats fourteen hundred people, with an additional six hundred seats for special events. The Bishop’s Cathedra on the left is balanced with the ambo and crucifix at the right, while the baldacchino with a gilded dome canopy and angels is positioned at the center of the sanctuary.
